About This Spot

Nestled along the promenade with the gentle ebb of the sea just steps away, Les Régates greets you with an unhurried charm that invites both locals and visitors to linger a while. The rhythm here is calm yet lively, carrying the hum of friendly conversations and the occasional clink of glasses, all set against the backdrop of sweeping coastal views. It’s the kind of place where time slows down enough to savor more than just the meal—there’s an openness to the air and a relaxed flow that makes you feel part of this seaside town’s everyday story.

Inside, the atmosphere balances between casual comfort and an understated elegance, drawing a mix of families, couples, and groups who delight in sharing moments over thoughtfully prepared French fare. Dishes arrive that reflect the region’s bounty: fresh seafood served with a light hand, flavors that nod to the ocean air, and simple pleasures that feel both familiar and refined. Whether it’s the delicate tataki of tuna or the hearty warmth of moules frites, there’s a satisfying honesty to each plate that resonates with the surroundings.

Service here is attentive without ever rushing you—staff move through the space with a warm presence, quietly encouraging you to savor the view as much as the meal. The small touches, like a local glass of wine chosen to pair with your dish or a coffee and dessert savored slowly, complete the experience of being connected to place and people. Children find menus and portions that suit their pace, while more seasoned diners find room for relaxed conversation and shared discovery.

Finding its way on the quieter end of the promenade, Les Régates feels like a tucked-away gem, well-loved by those who appreciate a blend of great food, coastal atmosphere, and sincere hospitality. It’s not just a stop on your day but a gentle invitation to pause, taste, and take in the rare calm found where the town meets the sea.

Lovely spot, waiter was excellent, very polite, wine was a local red, really nice, Mareuil. Crepes were lovely, and the view priceless, look forward to returning.

This restaurant was amazing! Hard to find, for some reason, but great food, great ambiance and the staff we're wonderful. Had eaten there last year and their desserts we're gigantic and filling as well. The burger I had ordered was perfectly cooked, well seasoned and the fries we're just a little undercooked but the burger made up for it. The mussels that my husband and mom ordered we're excellent. Job well done, thank you team Regates!

Popped into here for lunch while visiting Sables d’Olonne. Friendly staff, generously sized portions and kid friendly.

Had a starter and main course for lunch. The baby squid was fine, a bit too heavy on the garlic for me personally, but the filet of fish with citrus course was fabulous. A bit more expensive than yesterday but it does have great views of the beach. Would recommend.

After 9h drive we arrived to Les Sables D'olonne. Me and my partner both starving and trying to find a restaurant that would still serve food on Sunday night after 9pm. This place looks outside littlebit too fancy for my taste with the white table clots right next to the ocean, but it is actually really chill and reasonably priced. We were greeted with a warm smile, fast service and polite waiter. Salty crep gets 5/5, traditional burger wasnt anything special 3/5.
